Coolidge library, museum a potent tourism tool

To the editor:

The Jan. 16 guest column by Sasha Nyary and your recent editorial about the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum brought out an issue I pointed to during my campaign to become a Northampton city councilor: lack of knowledge and promotion.

Occupy movement just getting started

To the editor

Occupy Wall Street's road trip came to town last week and a free showing of short films on the Occupy movement packed the Academy of Music. Northampton's own Sut Jhally from the Media Education Foundation produced the DVD.

To the editor:

The Feb. 1 article "Cost of rebuilding Vermont hatchery renews questions about Atlantic salmon," did a nice job of illustrating the challenges faced by natural resources agencies to restore Atlantic salmon to the Connecticut River.

To the editor:

I've lived in Easthampton for five years, and not long ago took an interest in local politics.

UMass football program growth deserves support

To the editor:

Enough of the nonsense about the University of Massachusetts football team and stadium.

I think it is a great move to play at the Division 1 level. The local communities, the campus and the team deserve a revamping of the stadium. With all the new construction projects taking place on campus, why can't the football stadium be included in these projects?
