Granby school evacuated after boiler backfires

GRANBY - Students, teachers and staff were evacuated Monday morning from the West Street Elementary School after a boiler backfired, causing the school's hallways to fill with smoke. No one was injured, police said, but the incident did halt the school day for two hours as students were evacuated to the Church of Christ on State Street.

SPRINGFIELD - Most of the seniors on the Holyoke hockey team played against each other growing up.

When they reached high school and joined the Purple Knights, the team came together. The results during the last two seasons speak for themselves.

Through the seven seniors' first 52 games, Holyoke went 23-23-6. Over its last 35, the team went 31-2-2.
