Carolyn Carver, beloved homemaker

GOSHEN - Carolyn Fay Andrews Carver, 78, of Berkshire Trail West, passed away on Nov. 4, 2009 at her home.

Born in Adams on Dec. 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edson and Ora (Remington) Andrews. Carolyn was a graduate of Adams High School. She was a homemaker, first and foremost, raising her two children, Gary and Fern.

The Hampshire Regional girls soccer team sent its four seniors out with a win and a championship on senior night as the Red Raiders beat Holyoke 2-0 at Dorunda Field to sew up the Central League title.

Shelby Benoit and Sarah Kober each had unassisted goals for the Red Raiders.

Goalie Nicki Stasz made four saves in her 14th shutout this season for Hampshire (12-1-3, 5-1-2).

New wheels for Goshen's animal control officer

GOSHEN - For the first time in several years, the Goshen Animal Control Officer will be hitting the streets soon in an official vehicle equipped for handling animals. Kyle Meservey, who was appointed full time Animal Control Officer for the town in August, will be able to do inspections, respond to complaints and transport animals in a 2003 Chevrolet van donated by Selectman John D.

Around Goshen: Town Hall repairs on fast track

The project to repair the old heating and ventilation system in the Town Hall is unexpectedly ahead of schedule.

Selectman John Stellberger said the town was able to save time and money because an effort to extract pipes and materials from an underground tunnel between the Town Hall and Town Offices was easier than was originally thought possible.

Hilltown CDC sets series of planning meetings

Over the next four weeks, residents of the seven Hilltowns will have a chance to come together for public meetings aimed at setting priorities for community projects, acquiring grant funding to support them and gathering input from local residents.
