CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Freshman Austin Rivers buried a 3-pointer at the horn to give No. 10 Duke an 85-84 win over No. 5 North Carolina on Wednesday night. Rivers scored a season-high 29 points and hit six 3s, the last of which will certainly live on in the lore of this fierce rivalry.

Syracuse survives Georgetown in OT

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Who says Syracuse doesn't have a go-to guy?

Kris Joseph scored a career-high 29 points, including the decisive 3-pointer in overtime, and Syracuse beat No. 12 Georgetown 64-61 on Wednesday night to give coach Jim Boeheim his 880th career win.

Joseph finished with a career-high six 3-pointers on 11 attempts after going 0 for 8 in the previous three games.

Smith College edges Clark

The Smith College women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and strong defense to extend its winning streak to seven games with a 68-62 victory over Clark University in Worcester on Wednesday night. The Pioneers (17-4, 12-3 NEWMAC) forced 26 turnovers and had four players in double digits led by Rosa Drummond's 19 points.

Withey's 25 leads Kansas over Baylor

WACO, Texas (AP) - Whatever Tyshawn Taylor and the rest of his Kansas teammates did to motivate 7-foot Jeff Withey certainly worked.

"In practice every day, punching him in his chest, jumping on him, trying to get him fired up," Taylor said. "He came out and played amazing."

A person familiar with the decision says Memphis is joining the Big East for all sports in 2013. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because an official announcement would be made Wednesday.

No. 10 Duke looks for answers with No. 5 UNC next

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski says his team's recent problems stem from a lack of attention to detail and effort.

And the 10th-ranked Blue Devils don't have a lot of time to fix the problems - not with a date with No. 5 North Carolina looming later this week.
