Josh Hamilton reportedly has relapse

DALLAS (AP) - The Dallas Morning News is reporting Rangers outfielder and recovering drug addict Josh Hamilton had a relapse earlier this week when he drank alcohol at a bar.

The newspaper, citing unidentified "individuals familiar with the episode," reported Thursday night that Hamilton was drinking at a Dallas area bar Monday.

Brian Cashman, Theo Epstein happy they can now do business

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Brian Cashman and Theo Epstein said that after years of being on opposite sides of baseball's most bitter rivalry, they are looking forward to being able to make deals with one another.

Red Sox tickets go digital to foil scalping

BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Red Sox are going to a new digital ticketing system for the cheapest seats at Fenway Park to keep them out of the hands of scalpers. Fans with seats in the $12 upper bleacher section for high-demand games will receive only digital tickets. They will be required to swipe the credit card used to purchase them at the gate.

Tigers introduce Prince Fielder

DETROIT - Saying "dreams come true," Prince Fielder was introduced Thursday by the Detroit Tigers.

Fielder appeared at a news conference at Comerica Park after finalizing a $214 million, nine-year contract, the fourth-largest deal in baseball history.

"This is awesome," Fielder said. "I just never thought this could happen."

DETROIT - Free agent first baseman Prince Fielder and the Detroit Tigers agreed Tuesday on a nine-year, $214 million contract that fills the AL Central champions' need for a power hitter, a person familiar with the deal said.

NEW YORK - Jorge Posada was watching television when he saw speculation on which teams were interested in signing him as a free agent.

"They put my face on different uniforms," he said. "And it didn't look good."

He began a Yankee and ended as a Yankee, spending his entire career in pinstripes.
