EASTHAMPTON — Pioneer Landscapes Inc. recently was awarded an Overall Safety Achievement Award from the Professional Landcare Network.
Pioneer Landscapes was evaluated on number of accidents, number of days that employees were away from work, and number of employee injuries and illnesses. In addition, a checklist was used to rate the company’s complete safety program.

HOLYOKE — Charter Oak Insurance and Financial Services Co. associate Mark Zacek of Amherst has been selected as a member of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.’s Leaders Conference, a select group of financial services professionals who demonstrate leadership in all areas of their practice.
Zacek is a co-founder of Wealth New England, an affiliate of Charter Oak that serves businesses and individuals in all areas of financial services. He became a financial adviser following a long career as a chemical engineer and business manager.
Zacek serves on the board of Music in Deerfield, is a member of The Pioneer Valley Estate Planning Council and Amherst South Congregational Church, and serves on committees of Amherst Family Outreach and the Amherst, Northampton and Chicopee Chambers of Commerce.

NORTHAMPTON — Two directors and four corporators were recently elected for Florence Savings Bank.
The new directors are Christine Aubrey of Northampton, broker and owner of Coldwell Banker Upton-Massamont Realtors, and John E. Ebbets of Hatfield, director of development at the University of Massachusetts Fine Arts Center.
The new corporators are George H. Fleischner of Williamsburg, is executive director of Nonotuck Resource Associates Inc.; Gary W. Keefe of Florence, assistant adjutant general for air and commander of the Massachusetts Air National Guard; Todd J. Sienkiewicz of Plainfield, owner of Florence Hardware; and Richard Venne of Northampton, is president and CEO of Community Enterprises Inc.
New real estate
NORTHAMPTON — Julie Held, Kate Carney Iles and Julie Starr recently opened a new real estate agency, Maple and Main Realty LLC, in the Artifacts Building on North Maple Street in Florence center.
The three are pooling their 40 combined years of experience listing and selling properties in the Pioneer Valley. Maple and Main Realty will cater to buyer and seller clients interested both in residential and commercial properties, as well as land.
