Greenfield Community College, job center host Tuesday employment fair

Admission to the fair is free and open to the public. It runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the GCC Dining Commons, with parking available in lots A-E on the main campus, 1 College Drive in Greenfield.

The fair will include employers from a variety of economic sectors, the college says, as well as nonprofit service groups and government agencies.

While some will offer general information on work and career paths, others will post current job postings.

Students and job-seekers should bring resumes and prepare and dress for a brief information interview.

Over 25 employers had registered as of last week.

Employers who will be on hand include Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Mass Mutual Insurance & Finance, Coca-Cola, Sisters of Providence Health Center, Linda Manor, Elite Home Health Agency, New England Natural Bakers, Fastenal Company, Spirit Solar, The Barn, Academy at Swift River, Peace Corps, Northampton Police Department, Community Action, Northeast Center for Youth & Families and the Association for Community Living.

Judy Raper, GCC’s director of student development, said the fair offers an opportunity for students, Career Center customers and others “to learn about employers in our region, explore different career and work opportunities and find actual job postings.”
