Employees become Integrity Development co-owners

AMHERST — Longtime employees Heidi Flanders and Anna Novey have joined Peter Jessop as owners of Integrity Development and Construction.

Flanders, of Conway, joined Integrity in 2008. She is a certified aging-in-place specialist, and can address design for the lifestyle needs of an aging population.

She received a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, specializing in residential architecture, from Keene State College in Keene, N.H.

Novey, of Shutesbury, started at Integrity in 2002 and oversees project management as a licensed construction supervisor. She has a bachelor’s degree in building materials and wood technology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

CDH wins recognition

NORTHAMPTON — The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of U.S. health care organizations, recently recognized Cooley Dickinson Hospital as one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures.

Cooley Dickinson is one of 620 hospitals earning the distinction of top performer. The commission recognized Cooley Dickinson’s 2011 performance in using evidence-based clinical procedures for treating heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia, and in surgical care.

Pinch marks 25th year

NORTHAMPTON — Past and present owners of the Pinch gallery, 179 Main St., will host a 25th anniversary celebration Friday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The party will be hosted by gallery owner Jena Sujat, along with Joyce Rosenfeld, Jessica Markey and former owners Leslie Ferrin and Donald Clark.

Pinch carries the work of a range of artists, with an emphasis on ceramics, jewelry and homewares.

Porcelain artist Mara Superior’s “Obama White House” will be featured in Pinch’s window this month. Superior, a Williamsburg resident, is one of Pinch’s founding artists.

Money management workshop offered

CHESTERFIELD — Hilltown Community Development Corp. will offer a two-part money management seminar covering creating and using a budget, understanding your credit report and improving your score, managing debt, how best to pay off credit cards and how to create a savings plan.

Trainer joins
fitness studio

EASTHAMPTON — Certified personal trainer Berit Nowicki of Activate Personal Training is offering fitness services at Snap Fitness, 39 Union St., which opened July 6.

Nowicki specializes in working with clients who have completed a rehabilitation plan with a physical therapist and are ready to ease back into the gym with a customized workout routine.

She began her career as a personal trainer in New York City six years ago. She is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Equinox Fitness Training Institute.

Nowicki’s programs also include weight loss, sculpting and toning, pre- and post-natal training, injury prevention and wellness coaching. She offers personal training packages, training in pairs, boot camp training, in-home workouts and training plans that can be sent to a client via email or smartphone. Heating contractor wins award

SOUTHAMPTON — Jim Patterson, president of Orchard Valley Heating & Cooling, is one of six contractors nationwide to be recognized this year by www.contractingbusiness.com with a Quality Home Comfort Award.

The online magazine presents the awards annually based on projects submitted to its editorial staff. Patterson has been recognized 11 times. This year’s award recognizes a 2,726-square-foot barn-style guest and pool house including a bedroom, spa, entertaining room and studio loft. It includes a geothermal heating and cooling system.
