Got a bad feeling about this one

GW leads 44-40. UMass is out of sync. This feels like an upset in the making.

UMass 33, GW 31 halftime

GW leads the conference in 3-point percentage defense, but the Minutemen have eight 3-pointers already.

Etienne Brower just blocked Hermann Opoku at the buzzer to keep UMass ahead.

A GW 12-0 run

Turns out the Colonials aren't going to roll over after all. They've scored 12 straight points and lead UMass 20-18.

Big win for the Minutemen

I really thought this was going to be a bad game for UMass. Richmond is
playing pretty well and the Spiders are tough at home. Stylewise this
figured to be rough for the Minutemen too.

But it sounded like they played well (I wasn't there) in the 78-74 win.

Even more encouraging for them was the shooting of Ricky Harris, who hit five of seven 3-pointers.

If
they can avoid blowing one of their last two regular season games,
they'll have a bye in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Win one game in
Atlantic City and they're great shape for their first NCAA Tournament
bid since 1998.

...four days til Harris vs. Harris...
