Saturday's loss cost UMass its spot in the FCS top 25. I have no argument with that. But how is Delaware still ranked after two straight losses to unranked teams. The Blue Hens are 4-4 with one win over a Division II team. The Hens are No. 20 in the coaches poll and 21 in the TSN.

Saturday's 11-10 loss to Richmond dropped the Minutemen four sports to No. 12 in the Sports Network top 25. Anyone that had been complaining the William & Mary was ahead of UMass all year despite the Minutemen's win over the Tribe should note that UMass is still ahead of No. 16 Richmond.
New Hampshire jumped up to No. 10.

I debated a while about Richmond. I watched them live and saw their offense play terribly for most of the game. But they beat a team I had ranked No. 5 on the road. If I hadn't seen the game and just saw the result, I'd give them more credit. But should I ignore more information? So I moved them up one spot.

UMass checks in at No. 20 in the coaches poll, still six spots behind William & Mary. Game results don't matter apparently.
Monday, September 6, 2010
UMass checked into the Sports Network's top 25 at No. 18.
What's odd is that William & Mary is No. 11 and still has one first place vote. Who would still vote the Tribe No. 1?
Of course this is the same clueless collection of voters (I'm one of them) that moved Villanova to No. 2 because the Wildcats lost to FBS Temple.
North Dakota State beat Kansas and only checked in at No. 21.
