In case you didn't hear: Actress Julia Stiles made a quiet visit to
Northampton last month to attend a Sylvia Plath symposium at Smith
College. She wrote a letter thanking college President Carol Christ for
the hospitality and to allay fears that Hollywood plans to muck up
Plath's "The Bell Jar" when they turn it into a movie starring Stiles.

Hilary Haley and Matt Morgan, two young guys with some potential are transferring out of St. Bonaventure as Mark Schmidt's quest to turn around the Bonnies gets that much tougher.

Odds and ends:

APR -UMass' APR (academic progress report) for men's basketball was 903 below the NCAA's target score of 925. But the Minutemen were not penalized.

They didn't have a player leave the program ineligible. I've been told there can be other mitigating factors considered when a team isn't penalized.
