Northampton last month to attend a Sylvia Plath symposium at Smith
College. She wrote a letter thanking college President Carol Christ for
the hospitality and to allay fears that Hollywood plans to muck up
Plath's "The Bell Jar" when they turn it into a movie starring Stiles.
