Music producer, pianist, guitarist, vocalist and teacher at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School, Amherst’s Mitch Chakour has had an illustrious 35-year career in music, including working with Bonnie Raitt, Howlin’ Wolf, Chuck Berry and Joe Cocker, sharing stages with James Brown, B. B. King, Aerosmith and Muddy Waters and writing for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. On Saturday Chakour will be at the 1794 Meetinghouse in New Salem for a roots-rock concert featuring Deric Dyer on sax, Cliff Goodwin on guitar, bassist Wolf Ginandes and drummer Marty Richards.
