Weekend planner — music

“We are all blessed to live in the Pioneer Valley where we can listen to amazing live music almost any night of the week, and probably for free,” says local booking agent and DJ Louise Dunphy. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, however, musicians occasionally come upon hard times. The Western Massachusetts Musicians Emergency Fund raises money to provide assistance for those who have given much to many for so long.”

Set to run 1:30-5:30 at The Harp Irish Pub in Amherst, Saturday’s benefit concert will feature The Wildcat O’Halloran Band (pictured), with guests Sarah Halloran, Caitlyn Squires, Wally Greaney, among others. In addition to the music, the $10 donation/admission fee includes an all-you-can-eat barbecue courtesy of Harp proprietor Mark Power.

Advance tickets are available at The Harp at 163 Sunderland Road in Amherst (548-6900). To make a private donation or become a sponsor contact Dunphy at 548-9860.
