Weekend Planner — Music

Neglected for most of her long life, the work of Anglo-American composer Rebecca Clarke (1886-1979) has been steadily trickling into prominence. Her Piano Trio (1921) — alternately impressionistic, romantic and modernistically dissonant — has been described by one critic as “an incredible piece” that seems to “speak to a time when the 20th century was still a vast, unknown expanse.”

A rare opportunity to hear this work arrives on Sunday when Sevenars Concerts welcomes three members of the Manchester Music Festival: pianist Adam Neiman, violinist Joana Genova and cellist Sophie Shao. In addition to the Clarke opus, the ensemble will be playing trios by Antonin Dvorak and Franz Joseph Haydn.

4 p.m. at the Academy in South Worthington, just off Route 112 at Ireland St. Suggested $20 donation at the door. 238-5854, sevenars.org
