Weekend planner — Music

Converging from diverse professional lives as they do each summer, the musical members of the Schrade/James family will gather at the Academy in South Worthington on Sunday for the family recital that traditionally opens the Sevenars Music Festival. Featuring three generations of performers ranging in age from 23 to 88, the concert will include solo and duo piano and cello works by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Schubert, Beach, Elgar, Scriabin and Liszt, plus music composed by festival founder Rolande Young Schrade and performed by her husband, pianist Robert Schrade.

The festival continues with performances Sundays at 4 p.m.: July 21, Kinga Augustyn, violin, Jacek Mysinski, piano; July 28, the Whipple-Morales Piano Duo; Aug. 4, members of the Manchester Music Festival; Aug. 11, Jerry Noble and friends.

$20 suggested donation includes refreshments. The academy is located on Ireland Street, just off Route 112 in South Worthington. Sevenars.org
