Weekend planner: Music

A legitimate claimant to the title of Renaissance man, Kristoff “Kris” Kristofferson has been a college football and rugby star, a Rhodes scholar, a Golden Gloves boxer, a military officer, a helicopter pilot, an acclaimed actor, a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and a Country Music Hall of Famer (doing time as well as a screw-up). His chart-topping hits, including “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” and “For the Good Times,” have been covered by an estimated 450 artists. Now 76, Kristofferson continues to churn out songs. On Sunday he’ll be at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton in support of his 28th album, “Feeling Mortal” (“The truth is, we’re all gonna die —well, maybe I won’t”). 8 p.m. $35, $45, $55. 586-8686, iheg.com
