A WORTHY REPLAY
The sweeping, sprawling, emotionally wrought movie based on the former longtime White House butler who attended Barack Obama’s inauguration is worth the price of admission for one glorious scene: when Forest Whitaker, playing the butler, watches on television as newscasters announce Nov. 4, 2008 that Obama captured the presidency. Seeing that moment, portrayed by Whitaker in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” gave me chills all over again. At Cinemark in Hadley.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
The Three County Fair, marking its 196th year, always has something new to offer in the way of entertainment. This year, the Renaissance Jousting sounds intriguing. There are lots of musical offerings as well, including a blues show Sunday at 2 p.m. Fair gates open Friday through Monday at 11 a.m. each day. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and veterans, and free for children ages 11 and under.
