The Easthampton Rotary Club held its 34th annual Lobster Bake at Nonotuck Park last Saturday. Folks (250 of them) chowed down on lobster, steak, steamers, hot dogs, chowder, corn on the cob, potatoes and even hard-boiled eggs. “We put the eggs on top, and when the eggs are hard boiled, we know the lobsters are done,” said John Phillips, president of the Easthampton Rotary. “And the eggs are excellent.”

The money raised goes back into the community, funding projects like the Senior Center’s new bus and air conditioning for the Community Center.

The lobster bake used to be exclusively a rotary event, but over the years it’s become one of the largest Easthampton community events. “It’s a great way to support the Rotary,” said Lynn Starr of Southampton.
