Kathleen Mellen’s Best Bets couch potato-style
I do get off my couch every so often to experience arts in the Valley. But last weekend I stayed home because TV’s prospects were tempting: I watched “Clear History,” an HBO movie starring Larry David, Jon Hamm (I could sneak in my Hamm fix while “Mad Men” is between seasons), Kate Hudson (her reaction to an unwanted kiss will resonate with anyone who’s ever gotten one), and Michael Keaton (I might not have recognized him if he hadn’t sounded suspiciously like Beetlejuice). It’s a funny, quirky movie, and it’ll be repeated time and time again this month.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
Best line from the first of the last eight episodes of AMC’s “Breaking Bad”: “If you don’t know who I am, maybe your best course would be to tread lightly” (Walter to Hank, his cop brother-in-law). Agh! The suspense is gonna kill me. Sundays, 9 p.m. (Watch the episode at www.amctv.com.)
