Laurie Loisel’s Best Bets
Gone are the days when there was no point turning on the TV come summertime. I’m enjoying Monday night TV a great deal. Last summer, I got hooked on TNT’s “Major Crimes,” a spin-off of “The Closer.” That’s on at 9 p.m. This summer I added A&E’s “Longmire” to my routine. The crime drama follows Sheriff Walt Longmire and his team of deputies. It starts at 10, so doesn’t conflict with “Major Crimes.”
ANOTHER GOOD BET
In these parts, we don’t fully appreciate the veranda. It’s a Southern thing, I think. At the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum, you can enjoy music, tea and pastries on the veranda on Saturdays in the summer. This weekend that would mean West & Jackson performing jazz and pop. 130 River Drive, Hadley. $10.
