On one of the first truly hot days of the season, the Style Stop team spotted Karen Currie dressed in a long, flowy dress and relaxing on a bench in downtown Northampton. A 2004 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Currie lives in Richmond, Va., but said she and her wife are hoping to move back to this area.
HER CHOICE FOR SUMMER: Something that’s comfortable that’s not going to stick to me
THE DRESS: I got it from Ann Taylor Loft. I’d been looking for one for awhile. A dress is easy — you just have to pick one thing that you want to wear. I kind of feel like I’m wearing PJ’s, and that’s a benefit.
THE PATTERN: I tend to go for bold. This is actually a little muted for me.
FOOTWEAR: Whatever I can walk in. These aren’t really that comfortable. I’m usually wearing my Tevas.
HER STYLE: Whatever I happen to see that I like. And if it’s on sale, that’s good, too.
SOUTHERN SUMMERS: It’s more humid there. You go from really hot outside to really cold air conditioning inside, so layers are good. I always have a sweater stuffed in my purse.
HER BAG: Whatever will hold all my stuff, and my wife’s
