It was love at first sight when the Style Stop team spotted Marcia Camp’s artisan-style, earth-toned outfit. Camp, who lives in South Londonderry, Vt., was visiting Main Street in Northampton.

PONCHO: This striped poncho is from a great company called The Peruvian Connection. All of the apparel is made from alpaca so the fibers are soft and warm.

THE PERUVIAN CONNECTION: I actually used to work for them. That’s the only way I can afford their clothes. It’s also how I learned about the fibers. Alpaca fibers are hollow so they trap air inside them and that is what keeps the material so warm.

BAG: It’s felted and handmade. I like handmade clothes. They are more original and if you look at this bag, you can just tell it wasn’t manufactured in a factory. My nephew gave me the bag. I think he got it at a crafts center or a farmers market.

KNITTING: Speaking of handmade, I knit a lot of my own things. I frequent Webs, the yarn store in Northampton, because they have an unbelievable selection.

BELT: This belt was handcrafted in Guatemala by a women’s organization. Companies buy these belts from the women who make them to support their organization and then they put their own companies’ tags on them.

SHOES: I got these at TJ Maxx. I love TJ Maxx but I think you have to go often to find something as good as these shoes. I like the flower on them. Even though they were so cheap, I take really good care of them because I love them so much.
