Suzanne Wilson best bets
Smith College senior Emma Weinstein already has directed several theater productions and has won awards for her work. For her latest, she chose “The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade” — a tale of inmates in post-Revolutionary France — and set it in a detention center for girls. Today and Saturday, and March 7 and 8, 8 p.m., in the Hallie Flanagan Studio Theatre. Purchase tickets at http://www.smith.edu/smitharts
ANOTHER GOOD BET
Having snagged the Oscar for Best Picture, “Argo” returns to Cinemark at Hampshire Mall, Hadley. A great thriller that’s apparently more suspenseful than the real-life incident on which it’s based.
