CHASING ICE: This film follows National Geographic photographer James Balog across the Arctic as he deploys time-lapse cameras designed to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers. Rated PG-13.

DJANGO UNCHAINED: Django (Jamie Foxx), a slave-turned-bounty hunter, sets out to rescue his wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), from a Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. Also stars Christoph Waltz. Rated R.

HITCHCOCK: A love story between filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and wife, Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), during the filming in 1959 of “Psycho.” Also stars Scarlett Johansson. Rated PG-13.

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY: A curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug. Also stars Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage. Rated PG-13.

HYDE PARK ON THE HUDSON: The story of the love affair between President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley (Laura Linney), centered around the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York. THE IMPOSSIBLE: An account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of the devastating tsunami that hit Southeast Asia in 2004. Stars Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, Tom Holland. Rated PG-13.

JACK REACHER: A homicide investigator (Tom Cruise) digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims. Also stars Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins. Rated PG-13.

LES MISÉRABLES: In 19th-century France, Prisoner 24601, aka Jean Valjean, Jean Valjean, is released from prison, breaks parole, and is on the run from a ruthless policeman, Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe). NOT FADE AWAY: In suburban New Jersey in the 1960s, a group of friends form a rock band and try to make it big. Stars John Magaro, Jack Huston, Will Brill. Rated R.

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK: After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own. Also stars Robert De Niro. Rated R.
