If it feels like “Zero Dark Thirty” has already been in theaters for weeks — well, that’s what a lot of prerelease buzz and controversy can do. Now we’ll have a chance to see for ourselves and make up our own minds about the methods used to carry out the war against terror and the search for Osama bin Laden. At Cinemark in Hadley, Greenfield Garden Cinemas, South Hadley’s Tower Theaters, and Rave Cinemas, West Springfield.


The Montague Bookmill’s appropriately titled Dead of Winter Film Series offers “Days of Heaven,” the 1978 Terrence Malick feature starring a very young Richard Gere, Sunday at 7 p.m. Set in 1916 in the Texas Panhandle, the film won praise for its cinematography, though critics were less impressed with its plot. The Bookmill is at 440 Greenfield Road, Montague. 367-9206
