They’re back, at long last, the whole lot of them — Mary, Edith, Sybil, Daisy, Mrs. Patmore, Lady Rosamund, Matthew and, of course, Mr. Bates. A highlight of “Downton Abbey” this season promises to be the addition of Shirley MacLaine in the role of Martha Levinson, Lady Cora’s mother, who sweeps in from the U.S. for a visit. “Modern Dialect: American Paintings from the John and Susan Horseman Collection,” at the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield, showcases works by artists who received commissions from the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression. The exhibit reflects the hard times of the 1930s, and is a window into the artistic styles of the day. The museum is at 21 Edwards St. Hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Feb. 24.
