‘A CHRISTMAS CAROL’
Charles Dickens nailed all the great themes about life in his masterpiece “The Christmas Carol.” If a reminder is needed, Paintbox Theatre performs the classic tonight at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., at Northampton High School. To be sure, this is a performance with certain idiosyncratic twists, says Paintbox founder Tom McCabe: “You’ll sing carols, participate in not one but two snowball fights (with invisible snowballs) and everyone will learn how to waltz.” $7 at the door. paintboxtheatre.org.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
“Homeland” is over and “Downton Abbey” doesn’t start until Jan. 6. What’s a dedicated TV watcher to do? Maybe this is the week to try out some back episodes of “Treme,” the HBO series set in post-Katrina New Orleans that just completed its third season. I hear the stories are good and the music’s great.
