The Style Stop team spotted Springfield resident Michael Valade’s all-black outfit as he sipped from a coffee cup in front of R. Michaelson Galleries in Northampton. We stopped to ask a few questions.

How did you put this outfit together? I basically threw on whatever was closest to the door. I am a “throw it together” type of guy. I wear what I can afford. I also used to be a Goth back in the day so I have a lot of black stuff from then.”

Hat: The hat is from the local metal rock band that I do illustrations for: The Black Heart Epidemic. I am an illustrator.
Nail Polish: I usually paint all fingers. I was only able to get half way before I had to leave this time.
Rings: These are my grandparents’ rings that my dad gave to me after they passed. I thought they looked cool together and I’m wearing all three on one hand because I don’t want to lose any.
Necklace: This was a gift from my lovely girlfriend from a trip she took to Oregon. It’s a supposedly a prehistoric shark tooth

Fashion style: It has to be dark colors. I wear the occasional white shirt but it has to be dark. These jeans are even random to be honest.
Favorite style era: I like the e_SSRq50s and would love to wear a nice shirt and pair of trousers from that era if I could afford it.
Fashion advice: Wear what makes you comfortable, and is affordable. Don’t worry about what others will think. Just do what makes you feel OK.
