Steve Pfarrer’s Best Bets: Rolling Stones cover band; Lyell Castonguay’s woodcuts
GET YER YA YA’S OUT
The Rolling Stones aren’t getting any younger — Mick Jagger turns 71 this month — but their alter egos in “Satisfaction/The International Rolling Stones Show” evoke the venerable British rockers in their glory days of the 1960s and 1970s. The cover band has toured since 2000 and won acclaim from Rolling Stone magazine, The Washington Post and other media outlets. Iron Horse in Northampton, July 11, 7 p.m. iheg.com
ANOTHER GOOD BET
Through July, the Loft Parlor in Easthampton displays Lyell Castonguay’s exotic woodcuts, which cover topics somewhere between reality and fantasy, such as distorting the familiar imagery of birds into allegorical beasts. On July 12, there’s an artist’s reception from 5 to 8 p.m., Mill 180, third floor, 180 Pleasant St., next to the Paragon building.
