Lou & Lucy's Leftovers
I am at the point in my life where I really don’t need any more stuff.
I feel like I spend an awful lot of time trying to get rid of stuff. Some things are hard to part with, so they sit on a shelf in some closet moldering away until I die and someone else has to get rid of it.
What’s this got to do with food you might ask?
Well, with the holidays coming, it might mean more stuff will come into my life — by way of gifts — that I don’t necessarily need. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but, please, no more Snuggies, Ove Gloves, Slap Chops, giant, smelly candles, bread makers, Veg-O-Matics or other gadgets.
I really don’t need gifts, but if you insist, edibles and drinkables are most appreciated. A bottle of wine, champagne or a nice liqueur will not gather any dust on my shelves. Peppercorns or nice salts will also have a short and happy life at my house. As everyone knows, homemade holiday cookies won’t go stale. For that matter, this goes for almost any homemade treat.
If you are planning to give a homemade food, keep it classic. Stay away from the trendy stuff that might scare people off. Use good ingredients. People will love it.
But what am I going to do with this Ginsu Universal Toaster-Steamer-Broiler-Duster I was going to give you?
It comes with 62 attachments.
I thought you’d like it. Oh, well.
Guess it’s time to make the Italian gravy.
Just act surprised
