Suzanne Wilson’s best bets

I have to say, that’s a very catchy name. And the festival, featuring the best in klezmer and new Yiddish music, sounds interesting, too. Things will start Thursday with a 7 p.m. concert by the Klezmer Conservatory Band — which is billed as one of the best-known klezmer groups anywhere — and continue through July 21. All performances take place at the Yiddish Book Center, 1021 West St., Amherst. For ticket prices and more information visit yiddishbookcenter.org/yidstock.

“Writing with Emily” is the title of a writing workshop for young authors — as in ages 9 to 12 — inspired by the life and works of Emily Dickinson. The first begins Monday at the Jones Library in Amherst and will be taught by children’s book author Burleigh Muten. For information and a complete schedule, visit joneslibrary.org.
