Suzanne Wilson’s best bets

‘JOURNEY OF THE THUMBNAIL’

We’re accustomed to seeing an artist’s finished works, but less used to seeing what came before. An exhibit by painter and sculptor Gregory Stone offers a look at the doodles and sketches he did first. Stone, a longtime area resident, currently works out of his Canal Gallery studio in Holyoke. At A.P.E. Gallery, 126 Main St., Northampton, through May 25.

ANOTHER GOOD BET

Graham cracker art will be served up Sunday at Historic Northampton. Participants are invited to bring a work of art — provided it contains at least one graham cracker — between 2 and 2:45 p.m., for judging. Who knows what Sylvester Graham would make of the festivities, but we hope he’d be proud that his humble creation is still going strong. 46 Bridge St., Northampton.
