Weekend planner: Kids
“The only thing that makes traveling for shows worthwhile is the thrill of making so many kids happy and watching them get excited about music,” say The Flannery Brothers, who will travel to the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst Saturday to do just that. Described as “versatile musicians and zippy vocalists,” Dan and Mike deploy accordion, ukulele, horns, percussion, keyboard and guitar in songs that “reflect an understanding of a growing child’s world and are crafted with comic and thoughtful twists” (Lynne Heffley, Parents’ Choice Awards).
A benefit for the Northampton Community Music Center’s scholarship program, the concert starts at 11 a.m. at the museum at 125 West Bay Road in Amherst. Tickets are $6 at the door, with sales beginning at 10:30 (no advance tickets). Seating is limited and early arrival is recommended. 585-0001 for additional information.
