Millions remember the 1989 Central Park jogger case. Far fewer know the story of what happened to the five black or Latino men, who were convicted — wrongly, it turned out — of beating and raping the young, white, well-educated investment banker. “The Central Park Five,” a documentary by Ken and Sarah Burns and David McMahon, will air Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Hampshire College. “Good Prose,” just out from Random House, is a collaboration by author Tracy Kidder and his longtime editor, Richard Todd, about the often intriguing and sometimes tricky relationship between writing and editing — as nuts-and-bolts process and as human interaction. In the Jan. 19 Wall Street Journal, Scott Stossel writes: “You are in such good company — congenial, ironic, a bit old-school — that you’re happy to follow them where they lead ...”
