Weekend Planner: Comedy

If your awareness of lesbian comedians is limited to Ellen and Rosie you’re probably culturally deficient. There’s an extensive network of standup lesbian comics out there and one of them — Poppy Champlin — has made it her business to enlist the others for the Queer Queens of Qomedy, a nationally touring show with a variable lineup that promises lotsa laughs, regardless of your sexual, religious or political affiliation.

Hosted by Champlin, Monday’s New Year’s Eve show at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton will include Michele Balan, Cindy Foster and Ian Harvie (who’s actually trans rather than lesbian).

The show starts at 8 p.m. $25 general; $35 includes pre-show meet ‘n’ greet. 586-8686, iheg.com
