Wednesday’s prep schools: Williston baseball jumps on Pomfret before rain hits

In a rain-shortened game, the Williston-Northampton baseball team beat Pomfret, 11-2, Wednesday in Easthampton.

The Wildcats played 4½ innings and Addison Walker got the win on the mound.

Ian Ostberg of Florence had three hits and an RBI.

Tim Fay (Easthampton) Mike Mieczkowski (Hadley) and Derek Zewinski (South Deerfield) all singled home a run for the Wildcats.

Girls lacrosse

Williston 14, Westminster 4 — Olivia Bonavita scored six goals with two assists in the road win.

Madison Fulcher-Melendy added four goals and two assists for Williston.

Shana Hecht made 12 saves.

Boys lacrosse

Williston 8, Wilbraham & Monson 7 (OT) — South Hadley’s Brian Sullivan scored the game-winner for the Wildcats at home.

Sullivan and Joey Ford both had two goals.

Softball

Pomfret 6, Williston 4 — Jordan Strum had two hits, including a home run, for the Wildcats in the home loss.

Gabby Jones added two hits with a triple, while Jersey Strum doubled for Williston.

Girls golf

Williston 5, Ethel Walker 0; Loomis 4½, Williston 0½ — The Wildcats split two games at Tumblebrook Country Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Nancy Kang was the medalist for the Wildcats, shooting a 48.

Boys golf

Williston 209, Deerfield 221, Wilbraham & Monson 221 — Jake Durocher’s hole-in-one on the third hole at Crumpin Fox Club in Bernardston highlighted the win for the Wildcats (7-0).

Tyler Senecal tied for medalist honors, shooting a 40. South Deerfield’s Jacob Zaranek shot a 42.

Boys tennis

Berkshire School 6, Williston 1 — Nithish Raja picked up the lone win for the Wildcats in a road loss.

Girls water polo

Williston 7, Loomis 6 — Ella Mattocks, Abbie Coscia and Mary Kobeck each scored two goals in a road win for the Wildcats.

Dylan Fulcher-Melendy had 11 saves in net.
