Wednesday’s colleges: Chloe Harris seals Smith lacrosse win over Mount Holyoke

Chloe Harris scored off a free position with 1 minute, 57 seconds left to clinch an 11-10 win for the Smith College lacrosse team over Mount Holyoke.

Her fourth goal of the game put the Pioneers (10-7, 2-6 NEWMAC) up 11-9.

Kaitlyn Braz (three goals, one assist) pulled the Lyons (3-13, 1-7 NEWMAC) within one goal 27 seconds later off a free position, but they couldn’t tie the game.

Caroline Myran added three goals for Smith, Sydney Garner scored two, while Julia Hamilton and Bella Ferraro each added one. Sarah Price made five saves.

Northampton’s Emily Biggs led Smith with eight ground balls.

Leila Kouakou Northampton) chipped in three goals and an assist for Mount Holyoke. Julia Rankin added two goals, while Haley Subocz (Northampton) and Charlotte Wagner also scored. Isa Rodriguez made three saves, and Mia Wysocki stopped three shots for Mount Holyoke.

Trinity 14, Amherst 7 — Julia Crerend and Kate Wyeth each scored twice, but the Mammoths (6-8, 3-7 NESCAC) lost at home.

Hannah Fox added a goal and four assists.

Kelly Karczewski found the net, while Katherine Malone added an assist. Katie savage led three Amherst goalies with four saves.

South Hadley’s Karly Simpson, who played at Williston, had two goals and an assist for Trinity.

Men’s lacrosse

Amherst 13, Trinity 10 — Jimmy McAfee led the Mammoths with three goals in a road win.

Brogan Mahon, Brett Inglesby and Evan Wolf all scored twice, while Wolf added three assists.

Ian Kadish, Max Keeley, Jordan Sanford and Jack Wolff all found the net, while Colin Minicus dished out an assist.

Cody Tranbarger made 15 saves for Amherst (12-3).
