Tuesday’s colleges: UMass baseball rallies again to beat Bucknell

The UMass baseball team rallied for three runs in the eighth to beat Bucknell, 9-8, Tuesday in Kissimmee, Florida.

It was the second time in as many days the Minutemen (4-3) rallied against the Bison (3-10).

UMass led 5-0 after three innings, but Bucknell took a 8-6 lead after the top of the eighth.

Eddy Hart had three hits, while Ryan Lever, Nolan Kessinger (two RBIs), Alec Norton (two RBIs) and Justen Voghel (two RBIs) each had two hits.

Women’s lacrosse

Amherst 16, FDU-Florham 5 — Julia Crerend had five goals, while Claire Dunbar added three as the Mammoths (4-0) rolled in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Women’s tennis

UMass 4, Charlotte 3 — Ruth Crawford’s comeback at No. 1 singles gave the Minutewomen (6-4) the road win.

Janja Kovacevic (No. 3), Anna Napadiy (No. 5) and Martina Bocchi (No. 6) also won their singles matches for UMass.

Colby-Sawyer 6, Mount Holyoke 3 — Clara Wang and Joy Maran won at third doubles, but the Lyons (3-5) fell in Orlando, Florida.

Amherst 6, Trinity (Texas) 1 — The Mammoths (1-2) swept doubles en route to their first win in Claremont, California.

Men’s tennis

Amherst 8, Whitman 1 — The Mammoths (3-0) were 6-0 in singles matches as they won in Claremont, California.
