Tuesday’s alpine skiing: Northampton’s Jack Denhart places third overall at PVIAC League opener

Jack Denhart placed third overall and first in the North Division as the PVIAC alpine ski season got underway, Tuesday at Berkshire East in Charlemont.

Denhart finished the slalom run in 34.36 seconds. Matt Masciadrelli, of St. Mary’s, was first overall and in the South Division in 33.08. Cameron Ottoson, of East Longmeadow, was second in 33.19.

Nico Christakos, of Amherst Regional, was sixth overall (second in North) in 35.39.

Gateway Regional’s Zachary Ames was 10th overall (sixth in South) in 37.53.

Northampton’s Benjamin Delacour (37.98) and Nate Jones (38.52) finished 13th and 14th, respectively.

Edward Przybyla, of Hampshire Regional, was 16th in 39.05.

In the girls giant slalom race, Corriann Delaney, of Frontier Regional, was fourth overall and second in the South Division in 27.56.

Mohawk’s Ashley Lacross (South) was first overall in 26.27. Westfield’s Grace O’Connor (26.94) and Grace Crochiere (27.46) were second and third, respectively.

Anna Zera, of Frontier, was 10th in 29.07, followed by Hampshire’s Katelynn Dunn (29.08).

Northampton’s Abbie Denhart was 13th (29.56) with Amherst’s Margaret O’Connell right behind in 14th (29.67).

Alexia Dassatti was 18th (31.17) for Amherst. Maddie Raymond was 19th (31.50) for Frontier.
