Northampton enacts temporary parking ban to remove snow

  • Officials are eliminating several roadways while crews remove snow Tuesday morning.

NORTHAMPTON — A flurry of streets will be closed for parking during Tuesday’s early morning hours as Department of Public Works employees remove leftover snow. 

Officials announced the closures, which include several downtown thoroughfares, online Monday. All vehicles found parked streetside between 12:01 a.m. (just after midnight) and 6 a.m. risk a tow. 

The targeted roadways are: Armory Street, Bedford Terrace, Center Street, Crafts Avenue, Elm Street, Gothic Street, Green Street, Hampton Avenue, Hawley Street, King Street, the downtown portion of Main Street, Market Street, Masonic Street, Merrick Lane, New South Street, Old South Street, Pearl Street, Pleasant Street, State Street, Strong Avenue, Trumbull Road and West Street.
