Monday’s high school baseball: Hampshire walks off with extra-inning win over Southwick

Max Weir hit a sacrifice fly to score Ben Fitzpatrick in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the Hampshire Regional baseball team beat Southwick 1-0 on Monday in Westhampton.

Fitzpatrick led off the inning with a single then advanced to second on a throwing error. A passed ball sent him to third to set up Weir.

Fitzpatrick pitched a complete game to get the win for the Raiders (8-10, 4-4 Bi-County South). He allowed just four hits with four strikeouts and no walks.

Granby 17, Putnam 2 — Senior Jack White tossed a five-inning no-hitter in a road win for the Rams.

Pitching through wet conditions, White struck out five for Granby (14-5).

“He has pitched here and there for us,” Granby coach Jim Woods said. “He’s definitely capable

The rain led to some control issues, leading to five walks.

“It wasn’t perfect,” Woods said. “But he fought through the conditions.”

Smith Vocational 10, Pioneer Christian 1 — Matt Hewes struck out 12 in a complete-game road win as the Vikings qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2010.

Matt York had three hits (double) with two RBIs for Smith Voke (12-6). Dena Kellogg (run) had two hits.

Mohawk 9, Hopkins Academy 2 — Mike Curran drove in a run, as the Golden Hawks lost on the road.

Dylan Fil had two hits, while Noah Scanlon-Dean and Jack Feltovic added one each for Hopkins (6-10).

St. Mary 16, Gateway Regional 0 (5) — Brandon Daniels, Jake McKittrick and Brett Bonenfant drew walks for the Gators (0-15, 0-6).
