The Amherst Senior Center’s Wellness Rides Program provides rides to medical appointments for Amherst residents who are independent with mobility and decision making. Additionally, those eligible are people who do not have family members who can drive them places. Those living in residential facilities, such as an assisted living community or a nursing home, are not eligible.

Fee schedule:

$8 round trip to Hadley

 $9 round trip to Northampton, Hatfield

$12 round trip to Easthampton, Florence, Leeds, Belchertown

$14 round trip to Holyoke 

$16  round trip to Deerfield

$20 round trip to Greenfield

$30 round trip to West Springfield, Springfield

The Easthampton Council on Aging (ECOA) provides transportation to Easthampton residents, age 55 and older, to help with grocery shopping, prescription drug pickup, medical appointments and other errands in Easthampton.

The program requires at least 48 hour advanced notice (business days only). Reservations can be made by calling the ECOA between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at 413-527-6151.

The program also provides transportation for medical appointments in Southampton, Northampton and Florence.

Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen,
Plainfield and Worthington.

The Hilltown CDC Easy Ride program serves seniors over 60 and veterans in Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen, Plainfield and Worthington. Request a ride several days ahead. Trips are sometimes shared with others.

Riders must get pre-approval for eligibility by filling out a form online at www.hilltowncdc.org/rural-transportation. Then, to schedule a ride call: 413-296-4232 and leave a detailed message.


Northampton Senior Center offers medical transportation for $8 for round trips within Northampton, $12 for trips to Amherst and Easthampton, and $20 to $40 for trips between 20 and 30 miles.

Northampton Senior Center also offers Dial-A-Ride Van Service for residents 60 and older for local trips in Northampton. One-way trips are $1, round trips cost $2.

Rides run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

The Med Ride Program is a free servide for Shutesbury residents age 55 and over who are unable to drive or have no means of transportation to medical and dental appointments. Seniors needing rides will be matched with local volunteer drivers. Call 259-3796 or email coa@shutesbury.org for a ride. Two weeks notice is required.


Williamsburg Council on Aging uses volunteer drivers for medical rides and errands. The council asks that passengers give as much notice as possible. Call 413-268-8407.
