The Granby baseball team scored three times in the third inning and Noah Bleakley made it hold up as the Rams advanced to the Western Massachusetts Division 4 Tournament semifinal with a 3-1 win over Lenox, Wednesday.

Ben Rokowski nearly homered to lead off the bottom of the third for Granby as his double hit the wall. He scored when Joe Desormier ripped an RBI single off the Lenox third baseman’s glove to make it 1-0.

Desormier took second on the late throw home.

After the next two Rams were retired without advancing Desormier, Mike Sosa followed with an RBI single to left. He stole second and scored on Tom Rezzani’s double.

Other than one run in the sixth, the Millionaires were unable to cash in on six hits and a walk, as Bleakley stuck out eight. His ability to pitch seven full was critical as it makes the rest of coach Jim Woods’ pitchers available for Thursday’s 4 p.m. game with No. 1 seed Ware at UMass.

Rezzani will start for No. 4 Granby.

“He’s a senior,” Woods said. “He’s up for the challenge.”

No. 5 Lenox finished its season at 12-10.

It’ll be Indians-Rams III as Ware (19-2) and Granby (18-4) split their two regular season games with each team winning at home.

“I think my guys are a great group of kids. They’re glad to be playing. I like being around them,” Woods said. “Everything depends on situations, but I like our chances to compete against anybody.”
