Thanks supporters of Amherst plant sale

The Garden Club of Amherst wants to thank everyone who helped make our annual plant sale a great success.

During this community event, now over 60 years old, members sell potted divisions from their gardens, provide advice and recommendations, and raise money for a scholarship, support of the 18th-century garden at the Amherst History Museum at the Strong House and support of local conservation/environmental groups and local libraries.

We’re especially grateful to our helpful and patient families, First Church Amherst, Lord Jeffery Inn, Paul Redeker Rental Co. tents, the town of Amherst’s Department of Public Works, police, parking, and transfer station, and our many loyal customers and friends.

Please remember that you can recycle your pots at the transfer station.

The writer was chairwoman of the 2017 plant sale. The letter also was signed by Meredith Michaels, president of the Garden Club of Amherst.
