Granby house a total loss after late night fire

GRANBY – A private home at 22 Lyn Drive was lost to flames Monday night, according to Granby Police.

The Grandy Police Department received calls on the fire at about 10:17 p.m. and Granby Fire and Ambulance Personnel, South Hadley Fire districts 1 and 2, and Granby Police were dispatched to the scene, according to Granby Police Sgt. Kevin O’Grady.

O’Grady said the homeowner met the officers , advising them that his pets were safe and home was unoccupied.

The fire department was on scene for most of the night, police said.

As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, the fire is still under investigation. Police said the fire started by the back of the house and spread to the entire home.
