The Granby Sandy Koufax team is going out on top.

Granby finished off its 8-3 win over Northampton and then held on against Amherst, 6-5, to capture the Pioneer Valley Youth Baseball League’s Sandy Koufax League title Monday.

Granby won’t have enough players available to participate in the John L. Sullivan Tournament, which begins Tuesday, so the title marks the end of a season that saw it go 16-6-2.

Granby had to play an inning against Northampton to complete Sunday’s game, which had been suspended for darkness.

Jared Hubbard pitched a 1-2-3 frame to seal the victory earning them a game against Amherst.

Hubbard had the ball to close out that one as well. He pitched 2⅓ innings in relief. Granby led 6-1 after three and held on.

Dallas Elliott had a hit and drove in a run. Raymond Toth had a sacrifice bunt to push home the sixth run in the third.

Nate Mills had two hits and scored twice for Amherst.
