GRANBY — Police are looking for information about a man who allegedly tried to grab a female jogger in Granby.

The incident took place Sunday in the area of West Street and Burnett Street. The woman, who contacted police on Monday, said a shirtless man she described as being around 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds and 40 to 50 years old, came out of a field and tried to grab her, although no contact was made

The woman described him as wearing boots and either shorts or rolled up sweatpants. The man has a large tattoo on his back that has been described as an incomplete circle.

Officers had been called to the same area Sunday following a call about a man of a similar description jogging in the center of the road, although the man was reluctant to interact with police. He was not identified at the time because he was not breaking any laws. This interaction occurred a day before the report about the jogger.

Although police have interviewed residents, spoken with neighboring police departments and spent time in the area, the man has yet to be identified.

Police ask that anyone with knowledge about the man in question call the Granby Police at 413-467-9222.
