The South Hadley girls tennis team beat Minnechaug for the first time in coach Eric Cestero’s 23-year coaching career, 3-2, Monday at Mount Holyoke.

Kaylin Cousineau clinched the match with a three-set victory at No. 2 singles over Anita Kriz. Cousineau lost the first set 4-6 before winning an 8-6 tiebreaker in a 7-6 second set. She prevailed 6-3 in the third set.

Madden Lacoste beat Ani Diefenderfer 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles for the Tigers (13-1).

South Hadley’s No. 1 doubles team of Aislinn Ford and Isabella Earle beat Ali Boudreau and Ester Kris 7-6 with a 7-5 tiebeaker in set one, lost the second set 7-5 then won 6-3.

Haley Gurski beat the Tigers’ Hailey Werenski 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Amy Footit and Savannah Doughty bested Ali Descheneaux and Taylor Gelinas 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
