Suggests change needed at White Brook Middle School

It was enlightening to read that Easthampton High School is addressing the issues that plague the school regarding diversity, biases, harassment and bullying (“Officials, students outline work done to combat bias in schools,” Feb. 14).

Perhaps there could be a trickle-down effect to White Brook Middle School where there are similar problems, especially in the areas of bullying and harassment.

I recently attended a gathering where a parent with a student at White Brook was present. Their concern was over students getting bullied, which resulted in taking their child out of White Brook and transferring to another area middle school. Others present readily agreed that there was a problem at White Brook.

They say learning begins at an early age, so to nip these problems in the bud it seems reasonable to begin programs that can start coming together for a positive change at White Brook.
