THROUGH A JEWISH LENS

For 11 years, the Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival has championed award-winning, thought-provoking films that explore life through a distinctly Jewish lens. This year’s festival of 24 movies from 14 countries opens March 31 with “Dough,” about a down-on-his-luck widower (Jonathan Pryce), who is desperate to save his London bake shop, at Rave Cinemas in West Springfield and Greenfield Garden Cinemas. Both screenings start at 7 p.m. Movies, talk-backs, panel discussions and receptions continue through April 14 in Valley venues, including locally, in Northampton, Amherst and South Hadley. www.pvjff.org

ANOTHER GOOD BET

The Bobby Bradford (cornet)/Hafez Modirzadeh (saxophone) Quartet plays March 31 at 8 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall at UMass. This is jazz at its best. fac.umass.edu
